五個月內，四家獨立書店被查。

天黑了的夜晚，我們點燃燭光。

多倫多有不少華語人口，
卻幾乎沒有中文獨立書店——
歐洲、日本、英美、澳洲的城市都有，
這裡反而是空白。

我們希望透過文字，傳達勇氣和力量。
於是 Kamaboko 特別和 Haven Brews 及書商合作，
第一時間將一批台灣書籍帶來了多倫多。

我們相信文字的力量。
書沒有罪，文字沒有罪，閱讀沒有罪。
只是自由正在被抹殺。

「我是書店店員」 PAST是台灣的過去， PRESENT卻是香港的現在， FUTURE但也可能是任何地方的未來。

In Hong Kong, six characters on a black T-shirt
became the charge for which an independent bookstore clerk
was handcuffed behind the back and marched into a police van.

Within five months, four independent bookstores were investigated.

On nights when darkness falls, we light candles.

Toronto is home to a large Chinese-speaking population,
yet it has almost no independent Chinese-language bookstores —
cities in Europe, Japan, the UK, the US and Australia all have them;
here, there is only a blank space.

We want words to carry courage and strength.
So Kamaboko partnered with Haven Brews and booksellers
to bring a collection of books from Taiwan to Toronto — as fast as we could.

We believe in the power of words.
Books are not a crime. Words are not a crime. Reading is not a crime.
It is freedom that is being erased.
